The owner's love for good food has turned the Transylvanian Traditions Bakery sweet-shop
into one of Vancouver's premier dessert spots. Since the bakery
opened in February 2008, it has been featured in the Vancouver Sun, Canadian Immigrants
as well as many local dinner tables. Along with over a dozen preservative-free european
cakes, Transylvanian Traditions is one of the first places in Canada to make Kurtoskalacs,
a delicious baked sweet lemon dough spiral, glazed with caramel and crushed walnuts.
The bakery strives to constantly exceed customer's expectation, and many first time
diners leave the pastry shop in awe, impressed by the moist cakes, fresh whip cream,
and decadent chocolate creations. The traditional recipes have been slightly modified
by the owner to reflect today's need for fresh ingredients and healthy choices.
